ADOPTING

S.A.V.E. has many wonderful dogs and cats available for adoption into loving homes!

All animals are healthy, tested for feline leukemia, feline AIDS and heartworm, spayed and neutered, and up to date with their inoculations.

The adoption donation is $50. The adoption procedure consists of a personal interview and a vet check prior to adoption. The S.A.V.E. Director will bring the new pet to your home at the time of adoption.

Arrangements for the spaying and neutering of very young pets will be made at the time of adoption. A $30 deposit will be required and will be refunded upon proof of spaying and neutering when the procedure has been done at the appropriate time.

Very young kittens should be adopted into homes where there are other cats or in pairs so that they grow up to be happy and well socialized.

S.A.V.E. stands behind every animal they ever adopt out for the entire life of the animal, and will immediately take any animal back at any time, when asked to do so. It is illegal and strictly prohibited to transfer any of our adopted animals, ever, to anyone other than the S.A.V.E.-approved adopter.

S.A.V.E. only adopts into the New York tri-state area.


Please remember...pets are not "presents" for people
While S.A.V.E. Animal Rescue loves to do happy adoptions, we do not adopt our animals as "presents" from one person to another. The person for whom the pet is intended must request the pet for themselves so that we know they really want it. They must go through the personal interview, vet check and home check prior to adoption and they must sign the adoption agreement for themselves.
