OZZIE

FROM PATRICE, S.A.V.E.

Here are pictures of Renee and Patrice when they brought Ozzie to be adopted by his wonderful new parents, Jane and Paul.

Jane and Ozzie had a heart-to-heart discussion, then Jane introduced Ozzie to "his" yard, Jane, Renee, Patrice and Ozzie went for his first walk as an adopted pet!

Then Ozzie supervised as Jane and Paul signed the adoption papers, Renee, Patrice and Jane pose with Ozzie, and then one last hug from Renee and Patrice, and we left the happy family to bond!

Ozzie is one of the Little Dog House Project Dogs that the S.A.V.E. volunteers have been working with since last summer, and we are all so thrilled that he has been transformed from an animal orphan into a beloved pet in a loving home of his own with a wonderful family to love him!

FROM JANE, OZZIE'S NEW MOM

Hey Patrice

I worked all weekend and got home very late last night.....but Ozzie spent a very fulfilling weekend with Paul (and some of his family here and there).

He has definitely warmed up to us a lot.....his tail wags a lot and he comes to us and licks us....we have gone on long walks with him.....and yes he made a big wicked putrid smelling soft disgusting doody on Saturday morning.....and since then he has repeated this feat on a daily basis.....

Oh, always outside so far.....he likes his crate and chooses to go in there on his own whenever he wants and does not come out until he's ready......

He walks very well and is rather well behaved.....we'll give him some more time to figure out his territory, etc. and see if he has other colors that run deep.....

Paul and I love him and he seems to be a great dog.....just a little while ago we were in the backyard playing with him.....he does run beautifully.....he likes to leap onto this (moderately sized rubber) ball we're playing with and then he shakes it vigorously with his teeth.....he is very funny and we are getting a kick out of him.....

I'm sure there are many more things I could tell you but I can't think of them now.....

Thank you so much for bringing Ozzie into our lives.....he is wonderful..... Jane

And in another update
Paul and I are convinced that Ozzie is very happy here.....he wags his tail a lot and he pounces around playing with his toys and with us.....we love him!!! We feel lucky that we got him.....we'll give him a couple more weeks till his true personality completely shows.....but if it remains the way it is, wow.....he is a great dog.....

Thanks again for everything.....

Paul & Jane .....and especially Ozzie

FROM JANE, OZZIE'S MOM
08-01-02

hey patrice...

just a note to tell you how wonderful ozzie is and how much we love him and he clearly loves us also.

he has gone from a clearly unhappy and troubled dog to a happy and playful and always energetic little boy. he protects the house, barking at anyone ringing the bell...he has learned s much and is a delight. he makes us smile just be being himself.

we feel so lucky to have him cause his happier personality is becoming the more dominant one as time passes...i wish you could see him. he is such a good boy...and he plays so well with other dogs...we go to the dog run, our next door neighbors got a golden retriver puppy about 7 months...they love to play together...

as you know we fenced our yard and he has many balls and just has fun...he is the best...

just wanted to say thanks again...ozzie gives you a lick...
